anna_tn.jpg (6368 bytes) Sally Kirkland... stage, screen, and television star is probably best known for her performance in "Anna," -- for which she garnered the 1987 Motion Picture Academy's Best Actress Nomination.

For the same performance, she won the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globe Award for Best Dramatic Actress. L.A. Times' critics Kevin Thomas and Sheila Benson named Sally's performance in "Anna" as one of the Five Best Acting Performances by a Woman in the '80's.

Sally also won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress.

In 2005, she was presented with the LA Femme Film Festival: The “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

	Sally just got back from Helper, Utah where she was filming The Wayshower - Lord of Realms. Sally stars with Jsu Garcia, Peter Stormare and Eric Roberts.
	"Remembering Nigel" won Best European Film and Best Score at the Paso Robles Film Festival in November, 2009. Sally Kirkland is one of the producers and stars with Martin Landau, Mark Rydell, John Savage, Thea Gill, Michael J. Pollard, P.F. Sloan and Eric Burdon.

	Sally won the 2007 Slate Best Actress Award for Blind Spot at the California Independent Film Festival, April 2007.
		2007 GLAAD Media Awards Actress Sally Kirkland said she was proud to say she has been a gay activist for 15 years, fighting for gay marriage and performing gay marriages. She said she married Adam to Steve in the movie, Adam and Steve. She said she wrote the ceremony herself. She is in progress of producing several gay movies. Kirkland presented the Outstanding Digital Journalism Award to salon.com for Alex Koppelman and “The Glass Closet.”
